Cocker Spaniels are a merry, well-balanced dog that is capable of considerable speed and great endurance. They are an intelligent, gentle breed that thrives as part of a family with an outgoing, friendly temperament. They have a sturdy, compact body and a silky, flat or wavy coat. Cocker Spaniels have an ideal size of 15 inches at the withers. Cockers Spaniels coloring can be black, black with tan points, ASCOB (Any Solid Color Other than Black), defined as any color with or without tan points, and only a very small amount of white, Tricolor, including brown and white or red and white, Roan (individual colored hairs mingled in with white hairs), with or without tan points, blue roan or black, orange roan or red, liver or chocolate roan, shades or brown, or Merle.
