"WHERE LIFE LONG FRIENDS ARE BORN"

Labrador Retrievers
The Labrador is the most popular breed of dog (by registered ownership) in the world, and is by a large margin the most popular breed by registration in the United States since 1991. They are also well known as the most popular breed of assistance dogs in the United States and many other countries. Additionally, the Labrador breed is widely used by police and other official bodies for their detection and working abilities. They are exceptionally gentle, intelligent, energetic, and good natured, and are generally considered good companions for people of all ages.  Furthermore, Labradors have a high level of patience and tolerance for children. With training, the Labrador is one of the most dependable, obedient, and multitalented large breed of dogs.  Labradors are a well-balanced, friendly and versatile breed, adaptable to a wide range of functions as well as making very good pets.

Labradors are a medium to large breed. They are long from the withers to the base of the tail as they are from the floor to the withers.  Males
characteristically
stand 22.5-24.5 inch tall at the withers and weigh approximately 65–80 pounds and females generally stand 21.5–23.5 inch tall and weigh 55–70 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, but not wiry. Often their coat is described as “water-repellent”, due to naturally having a slightly dry and oily coat. There are three recognized colors for Labradors: black (a solid black), yellow (anything from light cream to gold to "fox-red"), and chocolate (medium to dark brown). Their head is broad with a slightly pronounced brow. Their eyes are kind and expressive. Their ears hang close to the head and are set slightly above the eyes.  Their jaw is strong and powerful with a muzzle medium length.
