The Maltese is a small breed of dog in the toy group. They do not shed and are covered with long, silky white hair. The body is compact with the length equaling their weight. They have drop ears with long hair, which give Maltese their expressive look. Their color is pure white; although they can have cream or light lemon ears. Adult Maltese range from roughly 5 to 9 pounds. They are easy to socialize with other dogs and even cats. They love time with their owners. Maltese are great companion dogs and thrive on love and attention. They are extremely lively and have a playful demeanor. Maltese are very good with children and infants and will be a wonderful addition to any family.
